So I used the Core Unlocking System on ASUS M4A87TD/USB3 and It seemed to Unlock to a AMD Phoenom II X4 B45 but CPUz only shows 3 cores and also the L3 cache didnt unlock when I start it up it says 3 cores unlocked but CPUz reports the CPU as A Phoenom X4 i have tried to enable 4 cores in the MSconfig Boot Advanced Options but it only displays drop down menu for 3 I have manually enabled all cores in the Bios CPU Config Menu,I am at a loss did the 4th Core not unlock? is the 4th core faulty? or is there something else I can try? also am I best leaving it as Pheonom X4 with only 3 cores running and no L3 cache or should I just go back to to running standard as an Athlon X3 and OC it?
Any suggestions help pls guys and gals

I'm sorry it's just that about roughly 25% here actually has an AMD, let alone someone who unlocks cores. It requires a great deal of reading through tons of articles/guides and I doubt anyone does it unless they have the actual CPU. I've only ever unlocked shaders or flashed GPU's, and for CPU's only limited myself to overclocking. I think you know more about this than I do simply by trying it in the first place.

Just don't want to post something I'm not sure about, hopefully someone else does but this is a very specific thread/question.

You can't always unlock the 4th core. It's luck of the draw.

seems thats the case so best to go back to a Athlon X3 or leave as Pheonom X4 with X3 cores running? I've gone back to Athlon X3 or at least that is what CPUz is reporting it as

I'd leave it as an Athlon X3 personally, especially if the 4th core won't unlock.

I dunno, but The 4th Core sounds a pro game tbh.
