Following on from yesterdays topic, what was the worst game you ever spent money on? This could be due to price, it was shit or just dam over hyped. Mine was Tabula Rasa. Spent ages following this game and it turned out just to be a load of Gordon freeman clones shooting random shit for £30. Although they did have rifts before Rift
warhammer online The hype that cunt paul barnet built for this game and all the empty promises that turned in to a shitty non responsive pice of shit game!! I had so high hopes for this as i love warhammer IP. Got so utterly dissapointed =(((
WAR was pretty crap by the end but still got the better part of a year out of it so still worth it and was fun at times. Actual worst game I bought....hmm I've bot actually bought many games other than MP ones or ones I thought were really worth buying. One that I didn't buy but didn't spend more than 5min on was SW clone wars republic heroes, shockingly bad Also the latest c&c game IMO destroyed itself, very bad also
Kinda dislike saying it but I never felt worse about buying a game as Dragon Age 2, had huge expectations but I only managed to watch and play the very start of the game and already noticed fundamental changes to the entire game and I've so far been unable to start playing it again. Made me rethink about the game's I've skipped over the years and I'm still having a great time playing older RPG's I never played/finished. WAR/AoC/Rift and DCUO were money-wasters aswell but atleast they kept me busy for a while and I had no expectations for the games anyway. Some other games ended up in the dust but didn't really make me feel bad about buying them, usually just bought em to play with others.
Tera KR, at a close 2nd place! Playing the korean version might actually have ruined that game for me. Lineage2 is up there as well, unless something good comes from that new patch (the year 2015½ probably).
Rift was massive disappointment but then so was aion and I played rift for longer than aion. So i'm going to say aion even though most of you guys enjoyed it. Wasn't a bad game obv, just not for me.
If you enjoy a grindfest and I agree the game was good, but far too eastern for me, no rewards from dungeons, grind to level or do the worst quests I've seen in an mmo, and as you pointed out horrible support... Was safer to be a botter than a legit player... Never mind crashing in seiges which was the selling point for me.
Aion.. Sorry guys I know a lot of you loved it, but it was sooo not me. In Vanilla WoW, I had a sig that read "Kill 1,450,220.00 Northshire Cows to Ding 40", as a kind of joke about mindless grinding, every single min I played Aion I was reminded of that Sig. Rift comes a close second, I want a challange when I play games, and endless, grinding with no reward was soul destroying for me in Aion, just as weak ass shit quests, dungeons, and lack of content was in Rift.
guys actually aion failed so hard for u too because the publisher said: its so done in korea and if u dont like it dont play it... face it. now go suck my fingers
Can't agree with the WAR statements, I'm still playing it after 2 years and having a blast (over 1000pvp kills last night). Sure the hype was lies and still made me probably the most dissapointed I've ever felt at a game, but its still fun. Rift however.. uninspiring, ugly pile of shit. It has a few redeeming qualities, but nowhere near enough
Rift... Aion is a great game indeed. only the imbalance and at some point the lack of real pvp content broke the game.
Did you guys have so much expectation before you threw a penny into Trion's Riftpot, especially after their Beta? I already knew with 99% certainty that the game was not going to be revolutionairy but more evolutionary drifting on WoW's PvE-side success. Only reason I paid was to play with you guys, unfortunately that didn't happen much with the community dividing PvE'content race. Although I could've played other games in the 200'ish hours I played RIFT, in that sense apart from the money spend it was alot of time wasted aswell. If it's purely about time and money, WAR and Rift are the worst games for me, both running the same engine's ironically. And if it's worst game expectancy-wise, it's DA2.
