So as we all know this past weekend was a Guild Wars 2 CBT weekend that saw a sizable chunk of gaming press invited to give them a chance to play Guild Wars 2. As you all know by now we are big fans of the Yogscast Boys and Girls, so lets see what they thought of GW2: Starting off with the Norn - The Charr - The Humans -
Profession Spotlights, WvWvW and the Ascalon Catacombs: Necromancer- Elementalist - Mesmer - Thief - Engineer - Ranger - Warrior - Guardian - World Vs. World -
"awwwww I can play with snow leopard babbys" Brilliant Didn't have time watch all of them fully, is it a persistent connected world wow style or they doing that teleporting everywhere (ok so wow teleports you everywhere from cities now too but heh you know what I mean) thing again with invisible walls next to hills to stop you falling down? Cos that really ruined immersion for me in GW1. I really like exploring in my games, not just jumping one spot to another.
I expect it's a mix of both. I know that the starter area and personal story are instanced, but from what I understand the world is mostly open to explore. But at the same time once you have discovered a place (with a travel point) you can fast travel to it at any time. Personally I really hope I get into the "large scale beta" in march as GW2 is shaping up to be a really fun action mmo.
Content looks great. but this being the first Yogscast videos I've seen, I really can't stand their voices.
Moved the Zerg vs. eSport discussion to it's own thread: http://booncontrol.com/threads/guild-wars-2-pvp-zerg-vs-esport.3042/
Added in the human stuff, hopefully they upload the 2 videos I'm actually in after tmw (WvW and the Dungeon).
! Challenge Accepted! Haters Unite! Why can't you do these kinds of video's chops? They would be an instant hit.
