Sup Boonskis i left my PC on during the night to... download my gay Eskimo porn (Throwing it out there so others dont have too use to much time thinking and guessing) But when i turn my screen back on it only shows a picture for about 1 second, then it goes black. Anyone know what the problem might be or is it just a sign of my monitor waving good bye ?
make sure you have it set to the right input. I've lost count of the number of times I've changed it to hdmi by accident.
This is a perfect example of a vague answer to a vague question. Do you have any other PC's or similar to try the monitor on? The last time I saw a monitor fail was 10 years ago, but GPU's...well not die but definitely driver issues or even simply not properly inside the socket or DVI cable not making a decent connection.
Pretty much tried 3 different pcs and several cables. Nothing that simple as driver or cable connection so most likely was internal contacts inside the monitor. Since I haven't bothered trying to repair it further I have no idea how costly it can be.
try different computers and different cables and make sure they are properly plugged in same happened to me a while back and I just threw it out and got a new one couldnt be bothered trying to figure it out
Its like there is a trigger inside that goes off after the warranty ends. That is kinda true. Statistical process control engineers develop the product not to fail but also not to be "too good".
Funny story... I had 2 monitors connected to my PC.... The first one started flickering and within a week the second kept cutting out (as per the description in the OP). I tried everything like swapping power cables, DVI cables etc but it wouldn't fix the problem. Replaced the graphics card and still had the issue. It just so happened I had some amazing bad luck that both monitors broke within the same weeks, even though they were different makes, models and bought at different times Anyway, try it in another PC before replacing parts
The only monitors I ever lost was while playing Settlers II, lost 3 while I was playing that game. Have absolutely no idea why, but they all sparked and started smoking and the light turned orange .. Old CRT 17" monitors. They weren't cheap back then either.
