Bah found my error now <.< 3 and 2 is wrong only thought 2 was wrong, way to long since I done stuff like this. Lesson learned and might as well put in a funny thing I ran into instead. 48/2(9+3)=? Is the solution 2 or 288? Ignore the spoiler part unless you want to laugh a bit at how stupid I was <.< I need to figure out which of the 4 expressions that I got that are correct 1. y = x/3 +1 and x - 3y + 3 = 0 are equations for the same straight line. 2. The line x - 3y + 3 pass trough origin (0, 0). 3. The line x - 3y + 3 = 0 pass trough the x-plane at (0 ,1) 4. The line x - 3y + 3 = 0 is parallel with the line 2x - 6y = 3 So I can only manage to get 1, 3 and 4 to be correct but apparently that is false. Anyone able to give me any hints to as why I get this wrong it's making me really annoyed. I haven't done maths as complicated as this in at least a couple of years, but I can try and help. What one are you actually stuck on ? I can't really work it out from your post as to which part you need the help with, or is it all of it ?

Got it solved I thought epression 3 was true since the line crossed trough the y-plane at (0, 1) but for the line to cross trough the x-plane it must look like (y, 0) <.< The new thing is a funny question

that math problem is actually a internet meme. Put that in any math discussion forums and world war 3 starts lol (if i remember it correctly, cba looking it up!) oh and also even using different models of calculators (like the TI 83 or 84) gives you different results =)

My math instructor forced me to calculate without a calculator, thus 288 was pretty much a very quick answer for me (so what aspira said). My TI-83 gave 288 as answer aswell.
