First a quick thanks to those that have played games the last few nights. We won a few, lost a few close ones and got tanked in several others but it was fun. My question, after watching a few commentated games I noticed they mentioned characters that counter each other a lot. Is there a website that tells you what characters directly counter your choosen hero? I know mobafire does builds but not really who strong and who's not.
Id say watch a few VODS of pro people playing, especially M5, since they are one of the best Tier teams atm. Thats pretty much the only way of learning what heros counter what.
Counterpick lists and whatnot are generally somewhat biased and not to be given TOO much thought. All too often do people, especially in LoL, flame and pick on people when they do not copy the build/"counterpick" of their favorite pro players in the most recent big tournament. That said - I would recommend starting out with http://www.championselect.net/ and as time passes learn for yourself how to handle different heroes
One thing that doesn't bother me is what someone else thinks of my play style. I know the game is mostly about positioning and gear. Also when I was watching a pro stream the other day I noticed his recommended items on alistair were different to mine. How did he change his recommended items so its easier for me to get the items I want?
http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Recommended_item_code There are also numerous 3rd party programs that do it, but I haven't tried any.
There are many ways to play alistar, you can play him as a support bot lane, as a jungler, some play solo top and rarly ap mid, there is no single item build, just depends what role you play in your team comp. For stream links i think this site is best http://clgaming.net/ you can choose with from best streams and find streamer who plays same role as you want. @edit and if you search for some good guides with good items builds for specific roles visit thise one www.solomid.net
