Was wondering what you guys opinions are about it and if someone ordered it ? My brother ordered one but I would like some more opinions really, seeing as in 2 of the earlier Iphone versions were some "major" bugs. Never owned an Iphone before but perhaps it's time to change that with this one? Thanks!
As far as I know crashes and were very slow. I have 3GS and its awesome, my next phone will be IPhone for sure. However I heard 4 is way faster.
I'd like to know what the major bugs are too. My 3GS is a little slow now (which is to be expected as it's quite old and had a few OS updates). If they changed the form factor of the iPhone 4S, they could have easily called it the iPhone 5.
1) Alarm system bug which resulted in people missing their plane, important bussiness meetings and so on. People got even paid back their plane tickets and such. (article) 2) Left handed people had trouble with cell reception as the receiver was on the left hand lower side of the Iphone . So the hand was blocking the signal. (article about it)
Yep, ok they are both true. Plus number 2 wasn't just limited to left handed users. The stupid thing is the test chamber they had for the iPhone 4 was the best in the world, except they used a plastic hand to test it..... The iPhone 4S has a completely different antenna design so shouldn't have the same issue. I'm waiting to hear about my contract but I'm pretty sure I'll be looking to get a 4S.
1) is a software bug that was promtly fixed 2) only happens in shitty united states areas where cell reception is CRAP. In portugal i tried to cover iphone whole and cell reception dropped the same way as in any other phone (barely noticeable)
Well, that's partly true... although it's not just in the US. However it's not a great excuse since it was designed in California
My brother had the problem in Belgium and at that time I was living in Norway where I found out about the cell reception cause a friend there had the problem. USA had the most trouble indeed but the problem wasn't only limited to there I'm afraid :/ The alarm system was flawed, not only in the Iphone but in other Apples products as well, which was solved after 4 days indeed. Nevertheless, that is why I ask for opinions now, as things like that shouldn't really happen with expensive piece of equipments like that imo. Though that's just my own opinion. When I pay so much for something I expect some mistakes, nothing is perfect, but flaws like that are too big to ignore (imo again).
Nah, they split the metal band into 2 antennas. Software checks which has the best signal and choses that for reception. If you cup the entire band with your fingers I'm sure it'll still give bad reception
I just ordered the 4S today so I can give you my opinion once I got it, the waiting time is 2 / 3 weeks though. Bear in mind, one of the main attractions, Siri, doesn't work very well outside the US. But that's temporary, as other countries are being added to it over time. The specs are better than the 4, the camera's better, and it no longer has the deathgrip/reception problem.
Thanks Hmm didn't know that about Siri. Gonna try to find some more info on that. According to a Dutch review it should work in Netherlands so hopefully in Belgium as well but only in English, German or French.
It works, it will still do things like text people you ask and stuff. But for example, it won't find local shops for you, I think they're geographical limitations / stuff not included in the current firmware.
I would buy one, but the nearest O2 store that has stock is about 800 miles away from where I live, when one of the 12 stores near me has stock I will be upgrading my 4 to a 4s
Got two more weeks to wait for mine. Bloody out of stock. Was tempted to go with the 32gb version just so I could have it straight away But meh, 2 weeks isn't that long.
If I'm not mistaking there is no option to add more memory besides the 1gb SIM cards right? Or did they actually change that with this Iphone?
I don't even think you can do that. Especially since the iPhone uses microsims... Plus I doubt it would even recognise it in the first place.
