Noticed many people dunno how to get rid of the annoying howling coming out of the game. This usually results in people relogging and getting on loooong queues so here's the most simple way to get rid of it. NOTE: This will completely STOP in-game sounds. Click the little arrow next to your clock on the Desktop. Small Window will open. Find the Speaker icon and click on it. Click Mixer. Find the Guild Wars 2 Application (Note: You need the game running for that.) and lower the slider to 0 or just press the blue speaker icon underneath it to mute the in-game sound. Done and done. PS: I know it sounds redicolous but we encounter players asking how to stop the howling almost every night during the raids.
There is an easier way then that, go to game options in your in-game menu select the Sound tab then select your Headset or speaker change it then switch back to whatever you where using b4 and the sound problem is fixed.
Some of our players reported that this turnaround crashed the game for them, so try this at your own risk... ... of being stuck in queue for WvW again
Are we talking about the fire alarm audio bug? You can actually fix this problem. Reset your gw2 audio settings. And don't change the sound quality and the mixing buffer anymore.
Good idea keeping this thread active and easy to find for the ppl struggling with turning off irritating in-game sounds, good thinking Doodle. Smrt or just nothing to do at work again?
