After playing the game I've realized that swtor is one of those games where you can't see squat from looking at the screens... you can only form your opinion after seeing it all in action(not from vids either).

A million times this.

I look at my own screenshots that I take when I'm in a place I think is really pretty and go "Huh, I have no taste" when I'm not there. It's really a game to be experienced.

we were just trying to realise if they did actually fix the High texture resolutions as they said they would in the patch yesterday.
as you can see they did not. it was just that Fokkie told me on /g that his high setting looks a lot different than low, and i wa like "wtf, is my client broken?"
hence the posted pics for comparison.
buuuuuuuuuut as you can see the only difference between the two is the shaders.

SWTOR is the game that makes you think "hey, i wonder if theres anything special at that hard-to-reach place".

You mean they are broken?! I just thought the game had shit textures, especially on gear, Jesus, mine is made from about 10 polys with art drawn by a thalidomide sufferer in his own fecal matter.

If they are broken then they need to fix it ASAP.

Been playing on low with a kind of crappy frame rate so far, but I just ordered a new computer ^_^

TBH on my new system framerates are frequently abysmal too. Game appears to just not be properly optimized yet.

never had my fps lower than 45... most of the times 75-90. Then again - I've never been in any kind of massive "event", just pveing, enjoying the story...

Well Imperial Fleet has my PC (8 GB Ram, 2500K CPU, 6950 GPU) down to 5 fps when driving around.

Hmmm... my pc is the same except for the vid card - I use a bit oc'ed GTX 560 Ti, maybe thats why... may also be 'cuz of vid drivers :S Indeed there is a fps drop in imp fleet, but it isnt enough to annoy me, because it only lasts for a second tops and isn't that frequent, for me atleast.

EDIT: we'll see how it performs with AA

With Catalyst Preview drivers 12.1 I have around 40 FPS in the Imperial Fleet (16 GB Ram, 2500K, 2x 6950 GPU), with 11.12 and 11.11c I had problems. And 11.11b was running around 20 FPS, wasn't really using much of my 2nd GPU.

Anything before those had Shadow issues and lower FPS.

Well, I have an AMD 4800+ with an Nvidia 8800 GT now and while it's perfectly playable by myself, as soon as I try a group, things turn to shit... Also upgrading to an SSD, that will probably help as well
