So the first part of The Legendary Survivor walkthrough, it'll contain several more moments to change hairstyle than Bear Grylls' programs. A cakewalk, that was my initial thought before I ran around the starting area in Cantha (Factions) and got molested by a group of 3 mobs called the Crimson Skull. Firstly I didn’t have the faintest idea how to setup my skills properly or how to distribute my attribute points. Since I was set on going for the survival title I decided to delete my character and try again. The guide I use for my Survivor title can be found on GuildWarsGuru Guide to Legendary Survivor Firstly I changed my hairstyle and instead of running around aimlessly I decided to just focus on quests this time, I got to around level 5 this way before coming across a big Yeti that was level 14. Surprisingly I and 3 henchmen got it to low health and the Yeti gave me a quest to kill a bunch of bird people (Sanqua), I accepted and ran towards the location indicator. To then get annihilated by a group of 8 level 13 bird people. Obviously there was a connection between the level of the Yeti and the bird people, so again I rerolled. I didn’t like my new hairstyle and changed it again, to then quest and kill my way through to level 7. At this point while I was killing snake people (Naga) my friend Acina tells me about an Event NPC called Nicholas The Traveler (the NPC is tracked ), basically I had to kill Crimson Skull mobs to get 25 Copper Crimson Skull Coins for all 5 rewards he’d give me if I handed those in. Acina (level 20) offered to give me a hand collecting the coins quickly, escorted me to the grinding area where he would send in his Hero henchmen to kill the mobs and run back and reset the instance to respawn the mobs. Watching him kill the mobs quickly while I was just looting their corpses got me a little bored and overconfident, when we reached the mobs campsite again I ran in to put my daggers into a level 14 Crimson Skull Boss while one of his Heroes was taking the hits. Since my armor was lowest and this is one of the ways agro works in GuildWars the boss turned towards me and inflicted a deep wounds condition on me which reduced my maximum health by 20% and another condition which drained my health down pretty quickly. On voice comms I told Acina, I think I’m gonna die here and before I finished the sentence I was dead. His response, oh well too bad. Besides it being rather pointless to continue I proceeded to collect a bunch more coins before heading to bed.
So I started a Survivor character a few weeks back, first character died at level 3 (fail I know), 2nd character died at level 10, 3rd dies about 100k XP over level 20, 4th character died as I hit level 20 Currently working on my 5th attempt and I'm about 200k XP short of the title - although haven't managed to finish it off in the last week (I use one of my other level 20's to grind or do the Nicholas the Traveller quests every week)!!
Im not even going to add all the near-death experiences where all my henchmen died and I port back to town. Those deaths were generally quick
I was once with rakshata, doing some quests in nightfall and i saw rakshata, alone (the rest of the party was dead, including me) kill 3 elementalist mobs lvl 24 with his paragon. The paragon was on the way to become legendary survivor and couldn't die
