Yeah so my first taste of WvWvW today was shocking, 2 fps with everything on low!

Wondering how the fuck i'm going to sort out my Rig!

    Current Setup

    Windows 7 64 BIt
    AT Radeon HD 7770
    Corsair 6400 2GB Dimm DDR2 modules x 2
    AMD Athlon 64 x2 3800+
    Gigabyte M720 US3 motherboard

So yeah any pointers ? or is my rig just bloody old!

it's your processor... GW2 is very heavy on processors instead of GPUs, so thats you problem right there

Ok so my processor is to blame, now I need to get a replacement guess a new board is needed to.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of some mobo/processor/ram bundles I can get, i'm so out of touch with technology these days!

My budget is £300 quid tops.

Intel 2500k with 8gigs of ram and a mono should cost around £280. The processor will easily overclock to 4.5ghz to make life in gw2 easier.

Don't know much about the new i5 processors but the 2500k is hard to beat in the price/performance area.

I get same 10 fps in huge fights on both lowest and highest setting with little to no difference. I'll probably bear with my current processor until I get money to build a brand new PC.

So if you're packing this what kind of fps are you getting in WvWvW??

I don't have any FPS issues at all except on Vistas (some cascading).

ok plans are scuppered to get mobo/cpu so i'm after more suggestions

here is my mobo's list of supported processors

Reading Wars 2 I notice that the recommended processor is a Phenom 9650 Quad-Core which according to the list is supported.

Looking at the AM3 processors I can get a higher processor in it with 6 cores like the Phenom II X6 1055T

    So yeah advice please?

Do i get the 9650 or go for the 6 core?

Dear god I am so out of touch with all this architecture!

Mantle, just get an i5 2500k.

Pretty much half the guild are running that chip and have no problems with it.

You will struggle to find better performance for price than that CPU.

Can you point me in the direction of the cheapest mobo/cpu bundle?

If you're buying that, invest a few more quid in getting a decent cooler for the CPU if you don't have one already; the one that comes in the Intel box is rather undersized and overheating trashes performance.
