That was insane, doc cutting his mouth just so they could blood sub Still getting sent of for tackling a streaker, the ref was bonkers
usually these ones are more like exceptions. There are stories about football ... where a guy gets sent of by getting a single yellow card, but after the ref has shown the red, you are out for good xD. or when a guy gets a yellow card, keeps arguing, then gets the second for it and his sent of. well, but this isnt even the worst around in football, im not a chelsea fan as im not much into barcelona either, but this was a 3rd class robbery against chelsea
Its insane that they don't implement 4th official behind a TV, especially in these big/international games Lampards goal in world cup? probably wouldn't of changed anything long term wise, but its just stupid with that many people asking for it.
well tbh i think that the human error facet is part of what makes football what it is... can you image what it would become of football without the drama behind all the stuff that happens ? it wouldn't be the same thing...
Shrug, I tend to be in the favour of making sure its fair to both teams, calls that determine something like world cup should not be down to what the ref's/linesmen think they maybe might of saw, but aren't quite sure if they did or not. The drama would still be there, at the end of the day WE see it on TV, crystal clear, and even when the decision goes against your team, even when you see that its correct on replays, you still argue till the cows come home that it was the unfair/right/wrong decision.
There are quite a few american sports ( ice hockey ) that use electronics/replays to make sure they get the decisions right, it's better to be fair than it is to have randomness for the sake of drama. If any sport can't survive without made up bullshit then it should just fuck off
We all know Ice Hockey survives because we all watch it to see the fights!!! I hate football tbh, can't stand it, much prefer motorsports to "real" sports, but if I am to watch any real sports its usually American football or snowboarding world cup etc. etc. Anyways.... basically, all the sports I like and watch be them motorsports or not, they all use some form of electronic assistance in deciding results or checking decisions etc. etc. I think the whole "drama" argument is laughable, but then again, I don't understand why people even watch football so meh.
hey, ice hockey is a very popular sport in sweden as well =P but i agree not having cameras in football is just dumb
It's not the only thing which baffles me with association football, the money is ludicrous, and it's people who you would not want to have access to money who become footballers. Following the money thing, it's the rich clubs who dominate by buying the best players, thus winning more Money expanding the gap. I'm an Yank Football fan and it's so much more competitive and fair as they have picks of players rather than just money buys the player. Bit like at school with team captains, the worst team picks first. It's a really exciting event and beats our transfer window by a military mile. Also the games are much more atmospheric without the aggression seen by soccer crowds. Football has the foundations of the great game it was, but now it is over priced and where cricket is the gentlemans game, football is the yobs. Sad tbh. Still fun to watch some games though. When it's not the dirty players throwing themselves about.
i kind of agree that its incredible how the tec support hasnt yet been applyed to the game. However i'm more of a player type then a viewer guy, i dont really fancy (that much) watching the games, only the replays/goals and to keep track of all the leagues/cups/teams, i rarelly pay to go to a stadium, but i do spend money on equipment, renting "local fields" and stuff like that. i think that all the sports are usually way more funny if you play them and that explains why football is so popular around most of europe. i've been playing football for as long as i can remember, i dont even know why i love the game, i just know i do. but a good champions league/europe league/world cup/europe cup finals are usually just ... amazing. although the games i like more are the player x friends vs player y friends, the smell of a tough competition beats everything . although most of the sports are amazing, when played properly, so i just enjoy playing whatever is possible, not much like "virtual games", sometimes it can be a pain to find one that is decent.
