    It wasn't because that wasn't his purpose. Now when you insult the people who are giving you your living over and over, EG obviously had enough.

    And good, cause the guy is a cunt

    EDIT: I'll like to add in that the he is probably a nice guy IRL and apparently his really smart. I didn't hate him, I hated his persona, just like some people do with Athene.
