Got in on PC and I have to say... don't buy it. With every driving assist turned off and the AI set on maximum difficulty, I can still win rally stages by over 2seconds and lap races by 10~20seconds. The gymkhana mode is fun, but after 10mins, it gets old fast. The drift events in the game are terrible as the cars don't drift as naturally as real cars, its too arcady, so it gets boring fast. The rally stages and trophy truck racing are the only good races and the handling on those race type is poor at best. Compared to Grand Tourismo or Forza, this game is a bit of a joke. I would compare it to the Need For Speed series in terms of difficulty and handling. If you played and enjoyed DiRT2, you will be disappointed in DiRT3 as it has less iconic cars and less tracks and less world locations. That combined with the easy AI and poor car handling, makes for and overall poor game. Oh, and you can't customise engine, drive, body or paint on the cars, which is just pathetic. Definitely one designed for the console loving player with poor gaming abilities. I will complete it just in case it gets better, but so far, its one of the worst racing games I have played and a disgrace to the Colin McRae series. Sent from my HTC Desire using Forum Runner
tbh I can see Forza 4 doing the same shit, they are adding an AI. The worse you play the worse the AI becomes, the better you play the better it becomes. I'm afraid it'll just be easy no matter what you do then :/
Forza has amazing customisation option though. Unfortunately they both use GFWL though, which is a pain. Sent from my HTC Desire using Forum Runner
Dirt is better on a wheel, even w/ assists off it cheats a lot for controller. New Forza doesn't look that great graphically. ( and allegedly not going to be sim style physics ).
Well that sucks. Forza 3 had some of the best car handling physics I have seen in a car game and graphically, it was pretty damn good. Forza could maybe still get by just because the level of car customisation they offer is far better than all the other games, but tbh, if they move to the "arcade" style handling like DiRT has, then I would probably give it a miss. Kinda sad all the great driving sims are moving to the Need For Speed style handling to accommodate the retarded.
It's like console shoots are for fucktards, well console driving games are going the game way. Ofc there has always been that genre ( ridge racer )
