Got this message this morning from Multiplay, wondered if you guys were interested in putting it on the server? We are pleased to announce we now offer the very popular mod BuildCraft on our Minecraft services. This mod has been made recently very popular in the Yogscast videos and we are now making it available through clanforge. We will be offering only limited support for this mod since it requires client side modification, however we do have instructions available via our support ticket system.
Does it come with the IndustrialCraft and Equivalent Exchange ? If not then pass not sure if its worth it ? Fizzee's opinion ?
Lol.... full circle. First we get a server running vanilla and get tonnes of people on, then it gets quiet so we spice it up with mods... then we get bored of the mods and go back to vanilla with a new world >.< I don't mind as I've not played on the server in weeks so i'm no sure I'm the best to have a say in it.
So..... 1.9 will be the retail version ? As in there will be no clanforge supported updates to the 1.8 build till the next official release at MineCon which will be the release version which is over one month away ? Sucks if that is the case. Even if they just patched 1.8 to nerf Endermen's block stealing abilities to the 1.9 version, that would be enough to allow people to build a bit till 1.9 is released.
I can only assume they are not going to make the release date. Whatever the case, I think we either mod the server or wipe and go full farming for mats which can be mcedited from a 1.8 map to 1.9
That is quite annoying tbh. I think wipe the server, make a new map, build one very square house (Firoz's wet dream) and just fill it with chests. Everyone goes out and farms mats and we just bank everything. Then when 1.9 or whatever the next full release will be comes out, we MCEdit all the mats over onto the new server so that we have some materials sitting ready for us when we start up the new map after the next release.
If people want to build they could Mark a square/rectangle border in wood or something so I can easily mcedit across in 1.9.
Yea, and also it cannot have any underground areas as MC editing underground areas such as mines/basements/crypts into a new biome with its own underground caverns can be a nightmare.
As long as you keep within a rectangular area you can do underground, I can find places safe to put it..
If we gonna start new world than i think we should just transfer only items and start building on new map. Also we could make a plan of big town so we dont have to expand walls which is painful.
Sure, we could build a nice town centre though with a town hall, fountain and message board. The town hall could have a storage area ready for 1.9. Message board could be used for listing required items so we can focus our efforts on what's needed.
so the next 4 week should we just go creative on the server and make one big building. A real team effort?
Could we remove nether (Not needed for gathering) and have 1 creative world so build something massive, and 1 survival for us to gather mats and build a basic town centre for 1.9?
tbh i would rather leave 1.9 stuff to 1.9. Gathering mats for it seems to easy and the fun of starting a map is the first few nights surviving.
