As virgin seem to be on a constant quest to throttle my 60meg connection into the ground. It seems as soon as it hits 7 here I'm immediately cut to 1 meg download. No amount of phonecalls toIndia solve my problems so I'm walking.

I'm looking at infinity 2 as a better solution for evening gaming. Anyone using it and had any troubles.

There is a wee discussion going on about it here: http://booncontrol.com/threads/on-be-o2-broadband.4992/

But I have had no issues and not seen any throttling (although I do all my downloading in the morning).

I have slightly higher than they advertise as there are currently only 30 people on my exchange with fibre interwebs (81 down and 20.5 up), I can upload a 500mb video to youtube in about the time it takes to fill in the video details (title etc) - this was in the middle of peak hours as well.

Update on this, here is BT's broadband usage T&C's, if you are on Infinity 1 or 2 (make sure it is the unlimited version of 1) then you will not be traffic managed no matter your usage.

I apparently on average download 168gb and upload 38gb a month

just swapped from Sky to BT and got Infinity 2 yesterday. Funny thing is I was benchmarking at 128k and was 98% slower than the general population. Re-booted my BT Home hub when I got in tonight and OMG everything is a blur.. AWESOME!!!

Why didn't you just get Sky Fibre? It's the same service and cheaper.

Hate Sky Tal, they fooked up the installation, took forever, then kept billing me for the month I had used and a month in advance, no matter how many times they apologized, they kept billing me the same £186 every fooking month, so I had enough.

Yeah, fair enough. I think we just went with Sky as we already had the TV package so bundling it together and saving a bit of money made sense. Plus they came out cheaper than BT and their line rental is cheaper too. But if you've had a bad experience with them I don't blame you...
