From what I can find on the internet..... it should be released in Asia this year and released in 2012 for the rest of the world.

There seems to be little in the way of information abotu this game in English and since I can't read Korean, I'm a bit screwed. However there is a really nice Blade & Soul fansite Blade & Soul Dojo that seems to have some translators who are putting up some really nice information about the game.

As for closed/open beta, there is a statement on the B&SDojo site that I will quote below....

Whether or not this is Korean only beta or not, I don't know, but I assume it will be.

As for the game itself, well, graphically Eastern MMO's are usually very pretty, and Blade & Soul is no different, the gameworld makes Aion look dull and boring.....

There used to be little decent footage of the game on youtube too, but now it is packed with ingame footage and teaser trailers. There is a load of recent up to date footage too from the latest GStar event.

The game itself has four races, I don't know how many factions, tbh I didn't look. There is a cute cuddly gnome/asura style race called Lyn which Chops will love.

There are 4 classes (do not know if that is all or if more will be released) and there are ingame footage videos out for each one that are availble to view on youtube. I recommend watching the ones on the Blade & Soul Dojo youtube channel as they often put English subs on their videos so you can see whats going on. Classes released so far are Kung Fu Master (reminds me of Tekken), Force Master (basically a mage), Blade Master (looks like an assassin) and Destroyer (a gladiator basically).

All in all, I think this game graphics wise looks amazing and the combat videos look amazing too. I am however very concerned at the use of the words "Combo Abilities"..... DC Universe used those words and it turned out to be a spam clicky game that I didn't like. It looks very much like Soul Caliber meets Tekken meets Aion, which just makes me thing its going to be all about learning combos and button bashing.

I am all for new combat mechanics, and combo abilities and such are nice, but if it goes down the DC Universe route of being right click left click move left right press up down left right and all that crap, then I will probably avoid it. For now, I am enjoying just looking at some screenies and videos and hoping that more games try to match this on graphics as it really is a pretty looking game.

So yea, if your interested in this one, I suggest you head over to Blade&Soul Dojo and read up on it there. My opinion of the game is that it looks very pretty, but until I see that it plays like a traditional MMO and not like the DC Universe style MMO, then I am not getting over excited yet.

Tbh I still interested in this Blade & Soul game, but it totally depends on how the will implement the controls as it looks like the combat will be "button basher" console style (yes Shanto, BUTTON BASHER!! ) and that usually means it sucks to play with a keyboard, for me at least.

Bumped since this is in beta in Korea now.

I have an account for the Korean closed beta and since their is no NDA from what I can tell via my own Google translations of the website, I will post up screenshots and fraps of everything I can. I was only able to play for one day this beta event due to uni stuff, but I was able to level up all of the playable classes to level 6 each, which is enough to see the first combos and triggered skills and stuff. I have fraps of gameplay from playing today and will try and upload it as soon as I can.
