I will most likely go Apothecary on release, but will try some armor/weaponsmithing next beta and see how that is in comparison!
Are there any direct benefits from the different proffesions you've been able to make out yet? Like "apothecaries get some trait/bonus/item only they can use" kind of stuff?
yeah there is some stuff - blue - but u need high faction with different towns to get them and they are so far low lvl, but maybe there is a lvl 50 faction dont know yet u do also get different recipes from there
Have they released anything about passive gains from crafting. I am thinking along the line of WoW where skinners got a passive bonus to crit, miners got a passive increase to their HP pool, etc. etc. but also stuff like say items that only that profession can use, such as a apothecary only potion that is better than normal potions.
nothing like that ingame the pots from merchants are the same, just cost 50s 5g 15g and more while u pay 12s 50s ... when u craft them yourself
Yeah was thinking of the exact thing as 'Spira, proffession-specific benefits, so to speak, usable only by the crafter himself.
u get skillz as harvester to track roots and woods so if u pass by like 20m or 30m u see them on the map, thats it ^^ updated list to 60 points apothecary
They're EXACTLY the same? Then whats the point? Surely it'd be faster to farm the cash than gather the mats? ofc you get to make flasks/elixirs etc but in Aion and WoW I made the bulk of my cash from mana pots
actually u gather 1-3 of 1 herb and make 3 pots out of 1or2 depends on the recipe the problem is not to gather for your own pots, i have now 300 mana pots and arround another 400 hp pots but im at 60 skill cause only orange recipes grant good skill points. in release u will craft for the people who want to be outfitter but still have herbs and so on. so u still skill up faster then gathering only by yourself also WARDING POTIONS can only be crafted Updated to 90/150 Apo
Apothecary was my 2nd choice of a crafting profession b4 I found out that Runebreaking goes well with outfitting. So I'll most likely go as Runebreaker/Outfitter/Butcher on release. Unless they really fix the ore nodes to spawn faster and be less rare as they are now. But as an outfitter even tho i wont be able to use the cloth/leather (since ill be plate user) I can still craft awesome bags for ppl and myself.
erm there are a million harvest nodes everywhere at least on alpha respawn is arround 2minutes so whats the problem ? they just dont spawn where they got harvested, they spawn in 200 meter radius u got a buff to track harvestables tough so its not that hard to find
Tbf the first few beta's i did it was simple to gather, even though there were loads of ppl trying to as well, the last beta seemed a lot harder - spawn rates had changed
Yea what Acina said. Beta 5 was my first beta and I made my impression from it and ore nodes were extremely rare and hard to find. Especially the Copper and Iron. I am sure they will fix that or as you say they already have in the alpha so its cool
