I havn't watched any new anime for a while ( tried Deathman Wonderland but it meh'd me ). Stuff I like in random order Fullmetal Alchemist Cowboy Bebop Berserk ( god tier ) Great Teacher Onizuka ( god tier ) Monster ( Best Anime of all time ever, fuck you if you disagree you are gay and love hitler ). Trigun Samurai Champloo Afro Samurai BECK Speed Grapher Vampire Hunter D Chobits Initial D Hellsing Ghost in the Shell Akira Fist of the North Star ( for the lulz, as it was one of the few imports I first watched on loan from a friend ). 3x3 Eyes ( same as above ). Basilisk Martian Successor Nadesico Randma 1/2 Noir REC Perfect Blue Grenadier Hohoemi no Senshi Suzumiya Haruhi Ouran High School Host Club clubbed to death dokura chan Seven Samurai One Outs Kaiji Akagi Lupin ( all films, and tv series ) Death Note Bleach/Naruto/One Piece ( skipping filler obv ) Detroit Metal City ( god tier ). Angelic Layer ( was trying to remember the name of this before kammie killed me for leaving it off the list ). Live Action: Densha Otoko Gokusen I probably left out loads of stuff I've watched as well.
Animes I think everyone should watch (that you did not mention): Serial Experiments Lain (Classic, very dark, internet/gaming/drugs-themed) FLCL (Think Neon Genesis Evangelion team needing a break and making a wierd/hilarious anime with amazing art) Lucky Star (Hilarious if you know lots of japanese-trivia, also hilarious if you don't) Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei (Newer release, Dark humour, amazing art) Azumanga Daioh (Everyday life school humor) Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (Newer release, Mecha, but with a focus on humans and humor) Code Geass (Newer release, Mecha, darker theme than above, but still focus on humans) Neon Genesis Evangelion (Mecha, Apocalyptic/Dark) Welcome to the NHK (NEET-themed, newer release) Elfen Lied (Extremely dark/Gory) Nana (special mention for making me cry, only Josei anime on my list, focuses on relationships) And obviously pretty much everything Studio Ghibli. And why no god tier on Cowboy Bebop?
Ok some of my recomendations. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (Amazing anime series must watch) Nodame Cantible (Would say this one is hit or miss, Music and a bit of romance with humor) Angel Beats! (Fun school enviroment action series, not the best but a fun watch) Black Lagoon (Must watch if you haven't seen it) Code Geass (Gundam style fighting with lots of fun mindgames) Genshiken (Comedy style series about "otakus" (spelling?)) Hunter x Hunter (Really good action series with lots of fighting ala bleach, naruto, one piece) Lucky Star (If you haven't watched it ) Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit (set in Feudal Japan with interesting fighting and good story) Sword of the Stranger (Amazing action movie set in feudal Japan must watch) The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (Movie about a school girl where things evolve to have a very interesting story) If you haven't seen any of those suggest you take a peek at anidb.net if my comments didn't grab your interest
Yeah, I've never been heavy on the fighting-oriented but Hunter x Hunter is actually pretty good for the genre.
Noone mentioned Full Metal Alchemist, Darker than Black, Clannad, Higurashi no Naku koro Ni and PlanetES
Look at the first thing listed at the top Clannad is a interesting watch but wouldn't recommend it myself. Realized I've watched Higurashi no Naku koro Ni, same as clannad can be fun but not a must watch imo.
FMA is a classic but again not my style, I watch mostly Seinen. I admit to not having seen the others (except Clannad, it's cute but not truly worthy of a mention in a "must see" post) so those might be worth it, only heard good things about Higurashi no Naku Koro ni and Darker than Black has been in my animelist foreeever. Could you give me the short on PlanetES? (even watched the first eps of darker than black apparently, but forgot, lol)
Well the top scored reviews are pretty spot-on imho, anyways: PlanetES is a sci-fi/comedy/drama anime, it doesnt really have a central and main plot and it be defined as episodic. It revolves around the everyday life of 2 co-workers in a space debris cleaning company, the relationship with the people around them and also between them. I hope you forgive me if i wont go into details as, according to my now unused animelist, i watched this series almost 3 years ago, but if there's one thing i remember is that it was really enjoyable and the realistic near future setting helped me in the immertion (space debris are REALLY going to be a problem)
I like anime but anyone got a good place to download at good quality? Watched Death Note that was pretty awesome and also began watching Elfen Lied really good but never finished it.
Torrents. Always torrent. Oh and if I ever do decide to meet any of you IRL, remind me to do Hare Hare Yukai. Thanks, I'll make sure to check it out, realistic animes (or that have realistic implications) are always awesome :3
Started watching both of these , just got busy and had to stop watching them. No god tier on cowboy bebop because it's not god tier. It's very good though.
