Started today with FXO taking on SlayerS for the first Ro8 place. It was an epic series and I recommend it to anyone interested in Starcraft 2. So happy SlayerS go through, MMA just looks unstoppable. The interview at the end with SlayerS was also quite good. Boxer promising all his and SlayerS fans that they will go far and produce great games to make up for last seasons disappointment. I had to lol when the Korean interviewer at the end said she was a bit nervous as it was her first live broadcast of the season, and then Khaldor said "she is pretty hot so she will get away with it". Was funny shit. Tomorrow (Saturday) is oGs-TL vs. ZeNEX. Match starts at like 2pm KST though, so you will need to get up early to watch it live, or just buy a season ticket and watch the VODs.
TBH the only excitement I get out of GSTL is who they'll pick until they bring out their ace. I mostly feel like these are just showmatches to let their unknown players have a moment in the spotlight. If it were for the money and/or status, just let MMA 5-0 every team.
He plays in a lot of tournaments and wins them, therefore he gets a lot of points to push him up the rankings. I still see GSL as being the premier event for SC2 with MLG being close behind it, so I tend to look at GSL ranking points and MLg finished to work out for myself who the best players are because I just don't trust TLPD. As for the argument of why don't teams just let their aces 5-0 instead of throwing out random players, well, team league is where these random players make a name for themselves and get given opportunities to show what they can do. If you remember, MMA was just another player for SlayerS until he got played in team league last year and soon became their ace/sniper pick. He used the team league to show what he was capable of, win a lot of fan support and become the player he is today. Team league lets good but lesser known players break through into the scene, which is why I love it. Remember tails from last season when he went out ahead of DRG to try and weaken NesTea, but instead beat NesTea then beat MVP straight after. That is what team league is about. And no, I don't get paid for advertising the VODs, unfortunately.
Exactly. Which means GSTL fills a very good role in exposing new talent. However, with the current abundant amount of tournaments/etc and limited time, I prefer to watch the highest levels (and/or my favorites) play instead. I'll watch GSTL when I am bored (like today) but can't say I get really excited by this league.
Finally got round to watching the VODs of ZeNEX vs. oGs-TL. Really good series, much better than I was expecting. Did not expect ZeNEX to take it to the final game, although I feel that TheWind made some bad choices in sending out Terran after Terran against a player who was obviously quite skilled against Terrans. I am glad oGs-TL won though as I would like to see them do well with MC having left. SuperNova finally getting a spot as the team ace seems about right. I have always though he was epic and very underrated. Also nice to see some lesser known players get some good runs of wins.
It was NSH vs. StarTaleQ today. Have to say, not the best games I have ever seen and probably only really worth watching if you have the spare time. I wouldn't go out of my way to watch them. Bomber all-kill, StarTaleQ win 5:0. Poor NSH, I really expected them to put up a good fight. If anything I expected oGs to all-kill ZeNEX, but that series was 5:4 and very entertaining. This one was just Bomber owning up the place (although he should have lost to Seal in fairness).
All caught up on the Saturdays VODs. Again, good games, some nice builds, but again, not edge of your seat stuff, but defo worth watching if you have the time to spare. The Neosteel bunker rush was a funny build. Pretty much went as expected with IM beating TSL. They simply have lost too many players recently to defeat a team with a bench as strong as IM's.
Todays GSTL was pretty decent. Some good matches and some top players being beat by back benchers.... gotta love team league. Need to ask everyone else though..... is it just me, or are Khaldor and Moletrap (I know no Moletrap today, but in general) spoiling your GSL experience ? I just find Moletrap to not only be annoying, but to be very innacurate in his casting and analysis. With Khaldor, he just irritates me. His insistance in calling team league a "clan war" which is the gayest sounding thing I have ever hear. Pronouncing Bel'shir Beach as "Belcher Beach". Repeating words over and over in the middle of sentences, example, "Here come the banelings....... the banelings....... the banelings are coming". Dunno if it is just me, but I find these two guys to be quite irritating and when they cast together on Code A, I find myself quite often watching the stream/VODs with the sound off.
they are poor casters, you are right. Incontrol is coming on bored or so i heard (not sure how long for) so that will increase the quality. They need better personalities, because those two are just absolute the worst kind of geeks.
Personally I think incontrol is a step in the wrong direction. Mr bitter might be okay if he stops being so overly biased towards serf. Sent from my HTC Desire using Forum Runner
Watching yet another Grubby vs Stephano. Hope Grubby finally manages to win, but my bet is still on Stephano.
Haha, oh yea, they are the bottom of the barrel. Also, the guys who cast KSL (not Khaldor, the other guys who also do Playhem) those guys are dire. Ideally I would want Tasteless and Artosis to cast everything, but since that will never happen (because its not possible, poor guys need a break), I would like to see Wolf cast more. I really like his casting style and he really knows the finer details of the game. I would say he is almost as good as Artosis in terms of analysis. Other than Tastosis and Wolf, I would like to see DOA come back. He got a lot of crap when he used to cast, but towards the end of his time on GSL, I though he had made massive improvements and I would love to see him come back. Compared to Moletrap, he is a veritable Tasetosis. Back Ontopic Todays GSTL, PRIME vs. NSHoSeo, is worth watching. Some really good games and all round GSTL awesomeness. As a massive MKP fan, todays games made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. MKP getting the All Kill, today was a good day. Also worth noticing, PRIME were sporting all the new Tt eSports gear due to picking them up as a new sponsor. The battle dragon LAN bag looks particularly epic if your someone who moves their gear around a lot.
