Why Trion should re-enable Runecrafting

Here is a little story from the official forums about why Trion should re-enable Runecrafting:

Ok, you guys obviously fail at being pathetic, so I'll start, I'm an expert.

Dear Trion,

I live with my 88 year old grandmother. She's blind in one eye and can no longer walk, but she's led a long and fulfilling life. She can't really speak any more, but she loves to sit in her rocker next to my desk and watch me play video games.

She became very depressed when I stopped playing WoW a couple of months ago because she hates first person shooters and real time strategy games and it broke my heart to watch her drift away as I played Starcraft 2.

Then one day I found Rift. I didn't even know this new MMO existed and it seemed like a gift from God. The old sparkle returned to her eye and I knew she was smiling somewhere deep down inside her crumpled and slightly strange smelling body. The queues didn't even seem to bother her, she just watched as the population slowly dropped and made sort of a 'huff' noise when I finally got to log in. Those were good times.

She loves to watch me play but seems her happiest when I'm crafting. She can sit for hours as I gather mats and work the looms and create all sorts clothing and bags. When I made my first rune, her thin blue hair seemed to stand on end like she was filled with static electricity!

Then the unthinkable happened. Runebreaking was disabled. She slumped down in her rocker, the spark faded from her eye and a single tear gently slid down her cheek. I said, "Grandma, it's going to be ok, it's just some young kid that was exploiting the system and Trion had no other choice but to disable runebreaking, we'll just go to bed early tonight and everything will be fine tomorrow!" She remained inert.

Next morning came a patch and I happily carried her from her bed to the rocker to show her that everything was fine.

But I was wrong. Everything was not fine. The ability was still disabled. In vain I searched the site for updates, reading hundreds of troll posts, wading through the threats to quit and the demands for class balance all to no avail. All I saw was that one lonely post:

The Runebreaking ability has been temporarily disabled on all servers until we can investigate and fix an economy-related exploit with it.

Suddenly, one of her long bony fingers rose up and pointed at the notepad I keep next to my keyboard, the notepad she used to write on to communicate with me until several months ago. My heart stopped and I slowly picked up the pad and a pen and set it on her lap. Slowly, with agonizing pain she slowly scratched out a single word.

Update?

How can I tell her, how can I break her loving fragile heart?

"No, grandma, no updates", I said through clenched teeth.

I fear she does not have much time left. I beg of you Trion, can you give my poor old grandmother an update on runebreaking? I fear the worst. Please don't kill my grandmother.
