Surprised it was still going tbh
Game is shutting down and there is still launch day content missing from it over 6 years after the launch.
i feel sorry for the people who invested 6 years in that. Poor souls
Tbh i just hope they enjoyed the ride...
I thought that game was already shutted down.
i know several who just hung in there for the promises they kept lying about. They played it for the old world warhammer IP mostly. sad times
Understand those that did hang in there, would've done the same in a similar WH40k game, alas... Rest in pieces oh Warhammer IP. Next time we see this game revived in some form, it'll be some bad F2P "mmorpg" that just destroys the gamers and the community and turns them into zombified bads, mmorpgs turned into mobas, just follow the zerg and think you're doing good. Rant over.
No that was the f2p battlegrounds only version
TBH the thing I remember mostly of this game is how the kept charging my creditcard after I had cancelled my account, because they changed the terms of services afterwards.
I got caught by that too, fortunatley I was still playing, but I was still hang on mofoers i cancelled that why is it active agian? TBh I dunno how they go off with it, at the time they had like a million people, half cancel subs in the first month, they "resetup system" oh 500k user charged 10 quid each,, bonus of 5 million clear profit.
Gusting people into the lava was one of my all time favourite things to do in an MMO. I'll miss it for that reason
player collision is a must in any mmo imo always adds to the fun, adding knock backs made for some epic fun. erm unless it you gettign knocked into lava, off bridge etc
Warhammer online has to this date STILL not delivered promises they made after launch. Im thinking mostly about the 2 new cities they promised for example. Im surprised it lingered as long as it did.
I am happy they never went f2p, respect for that.
Because silly people like me were still paying a sub (until a few months ago)!!
I bought the collectors edition of that game for £100 because there was a load of stuff that was CE only.
For example, the back of my box states multiple unique character models per race, ingame items to help you at the start, and beta access to name a few.
Now it was marketed that only CE buyers would get beta, but once the CE copies sold out, they gave beta to everyone who preordered any version. The multiple unique character models turned out to be one head model per race, and once the CE copies sold out, they gave them to anyone who preordered any version. Oh and the ingame items, turned out to be a couple of shitty non factor items and a bag, which was useful... but you guessed it, given to anyone who preordered once the CE copies sold out.
So what did I get in my limited edition CE box that that the normal edition preorder didnt get? An art book and a warhammer tabletop model. Everything else that was CE only got given to non CE players once they had our money.
So yea, I was already feeling ripped off before launch day, but loading up for the first time and noticing that there were major cities and even classes missing from the game (that still are even to this day) made me really pissed that I was suckered into buying the CE box.
That was the last time I bought a CE box for an MMO and have rarely bought CE versions of games since then due to how pissed off I felt.
Really hate that company for what they did with warhammer online. Still baffles me that you can make a shit game/mmo using warhammer.
lol, I remember they reset thier account system way back in the day and everyone that had cancelled thier sub in the first couple of months had their sub reactivated, DOH!
fun while it lasted and yea play collision was fun with keeps and oil
