This is My Little Pony and Brony related, so if you are not interested in those topics, don't read the Spoiler, don't write a reply and simply ignore this thread.
Cheers guys and enjoy D3 :)

John de Lancie recently announced that he would be making a feature length documentary about the Brony community after the US media had a string of negitive stories run about Bronies and casting them in a light which is less than pleasent.

John (Q from Star Trek and the voice of Discord from MLP:FiM) only recently discovered the Brony community and found it fascinating but confusing at first but started to research it and interact and became quite involved, showing up at conventions and even recording a message to the Brony community in the form of a parody of Tara Strong's (Twilight Sparkle) Twilightlicious

John realised that the community is so creative and huge and serious, not at all deserving of the media bullshit and decided he wanted to do something which shows the community for what it is!

So why am I telling you this?
    Kickstarter!

This documentary is not being funded by a large studio but by the community! so you can help get this thing made.

SO even if you don't consider yourself a Brony, but would like to see what the fuss is about, donate a few quid and help get this thing made!

    HERE

If you are just curious about the Fandoms creations and would like to check out what sort of crazy stuff people make on a daily basis, either ask me for a few of my favs such as this very fitting song + video:

Or hit up Equestria Daily Which is easily my favourite site for Pony related media and updates.

    Cheers for reading.

    That is horrific! Poor Lyra!
Cloppers (pony porn viewers) are such a blight on the fandom. I would be "live and let live" but I feel too sorry for parents of young children who want to look at pictures of mlp and have to navigate the clopper minefield.

That's nothing. Plushies from the top designers in the community have gone for over a grand before. Even a few of the guys at Hasbro (Inc. Lauren Faust) have had a couple.

I don't even know what to think of this really. I mean, is it honestly documentary-worthy to like something not specifically designed for your demographic?

I think so. Its always interesting to see why people congregate around a common interest when that interest is outside of the general 'norm'. Be it MLP, Star Trek, comic books, etc. John De Lancie is fascinated by the brony origins and what the community offers and myself and many others are curious too.

Also its great that its being done without the negative connotations the media and many close minded people apply to the fandom.

Plus its not just that people like it, a lot of people dedicate an insane amount of time making fan stuff, just look at EQD each day and that is the tip of the iceberg as far as content goes. I have a file 35GB of just pony wallpapers, 19 GB of music... Plus there are huge amounts of fund raises for charities by Bronies... It really is a phenomenal community really and a documentary will hopefully change the public oppinion for the better.
