The world of ArcheAge is indeed one of the largest game worlds seen in an MMORPG and as such, travelling large distances is something that can take a lot of time. With three vast continents, each of which are so large that it would take hours to walk on foot end to end on any of them and with oceans so large that crossing them by swimming is not an option unless you have hours to spare, ArcheAge is indeed a game where you need to familiarise yourself with your transportation options.
In ArcheAge, players are provided with many various means of transportation which can make getting around that bit easier. Be it on land, sea or air, player controlled or NPC piloted, or even teleportation, players in ArcheAge have lots of options open to them. Lets take a look at how you can get around in the world of ArcheAge.
So we’re a week in to the 4th CBT for ArcheAge, we’ve had chance to settle in and start gathering extensive information to blast out to the Western audiences. As two of the staple pillars of ArcheAge are exploration and creation, we thought it apt that our first guide would be about the most basic of elements in an MMO, Guild Creation.
Firstly I’ll start by saying that guilds aren’t called guilds in ArcheAge, they are called Expeditions and rightly so. You’re charted to explore as a group and so we shall…
So you have a new character, you’ve just hit level 5 and you have you sexy new mount (unless of course you picked Hariharan, awwww “Little Donkey”), what’s the first thing you plan on doing? Well in my case it was to run off and find out how to create an Expedition and invite all my chums, no matter which of the two islands you started on there are 3 NPC’s that will happily accept...
So we're four days in to the 4th closed beta of Korean sand-park MMO ArcheAge, this is quite possibly the longest period CBT that we have played in recent years, especially as closed/open betas are now predominantly seen as a marketing tool rather than a true bug/mechanic test. We here at BOON Control have been lucky enough to be invited to this CBT by the lovely folks over at XLGames for the second time.
We here to help inform you of our experience in-game, get Western audiences excited about ArcheAge (as if we really need to try) and feedback our experience to XLGames - they are very interested gathering feedback from the differing markets (this is a very good sign, compared to other similar games at market).
